2017 Toyota FT-4X SUV Concept

Toyota is the automotive giants from Japan, reportedly ready to bring a prototype of a compact SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) of the future, Toyota FT-4X SUV Concept, at the New York Auto Show 2017 will be held on April 14 to 23 next.

Although this prototype will likely not be entering the production line and built solely to explore new ideas, the prototype is fully functional and at the same time aims to attract potential customers millennium.

Underlying the Concept Toyota FT-4X SUV is TNGA platform of the company, which has started to be used in the new generation Toyota Camry and crossover CH-R 2018. FT-4X also has a size similar to the CH-R, a length of 167.3 inches, width of 71.7 inches and 63.9 inches tall.

This concept developed at Toyota's Calty Design in California, carries a slightly retro design with styling tinkering. Toyota says that the car had a "tactical grip, handling, and control was charming" , and perhaps the most interesting, combining the so-called 'Multi Hatch'.

The meaning of 'Multi Hatch' is related to the access of the back door. In outdoor mode, the back door opens vertically, while in Urban mode, the door will be split in two and opened horizontally.

Other custom design elements on the FT-4X Concept including 'removable picture windows' were included in the C-pillars, which can be replaced with colored glass panels. FT-4X and even integrate GoPro camera on the rear view mirror on the driver's side.

Meanwhile, supplies in the cabin also includes a sleeping bag is pinned between the seat and acts as an arm rest; a number of storage areas with color codes; up to a portable radio that can function as a boom box.
