New Luxury Coupe Convertible Rolls-Royce ‘Boat Tail’

Most expensive car in the world, yup, that's what we hear when we see rolls roys.

Rolls-Royce has unveiled a bespoke model that will serve as a race car for its recently revived and expanded carriage building arm.

The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail Price is said to have cost £ 20 million and will be limited to just three examples, each of which is a fully road legal and road legal motor car.

Made to order for an unnamed client, the car's design was inspired by a 1932 Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, which the client not only owned but had also recently restored.

"This customer-driven creative expression coincided with the long-standing ambition of the Rolls-Royce design team to create a contemporary expression of the Boat Tail typology, in which coachbuilders would graft the hull shapes of sailboats onto the mobile chassis of a Rolls-Royce, "says the company.

“Coachbuild offers the freedom to go beyond the usual constraints. Normally, there is a natural ceiling for Rolls-Royce Bespoke through the canvas, "adds Alex Innes, who heads Rolls-Royce's body division design team." Boat Tail is unprecedented. Boat Tail is a stark counterpoint to the industrialized luxury ".

While the Boat Tail design was being finalized, Rolls-Royce says the aluminum spaceframe architecture that supports it has been completely reconfigured to support the car's enlarged proportions (measuring nearly 5.8m in length), in a process said to have taken eight months.

How many Rolls Royce boat tails exist?

A total of 1813 completely new parts were also created specifically for the car. Indeed, to complete the preliminary engineering phase, before the start of production, Rolls-Royce claims that a total of over 20 collective years have been spent!

Below, the car is powered by the same engine found in a Phantom, namely a 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 that delivers 563 hp.
