New Record, 1956 Aston Martin DBR1 299 EXV Sold with Price US $ 22.55 Million

California - Aston Martin, known as a car supplier for James Bond's espionage fictional film, has broken the record of antique British car sales.

A 1956 Aston Martin car with a racing history sold US $ 22.55 million at RM Sotheby's classic car house, Monterey, California on Friday (18/8/2017), the most expensive classic race car in the world.

That is the highest price for a British car at auction house. After the price process, an unnamed buyer and bid by phone won the Aston Martin DBR1 car auction.

The previous record for the British car was made last year, when a 1955 Jaguar D-Type car sold for US $ 21.8 million.

  • Why A Car Can Cost US $ 22.55 Million???
According to Sotheby's, DBR1 is "the most important model in Aston Martin's history." The DBR1 car brought to the auction house was the first of only five such models ever made.

In addition, only the first model ever sold to the public, the other four are still kept by their respective owners.

According to the auction house, the cars sold are still in top condition, plus the exact replica bonus of the original machine DBR1.

The original machine is certainly included in the sale, but not installed in the car because it is considered "too valuable" if it is brought to the race.

DBR1 followed many races between 1956 and 1959, and had won a long-distance race at the Nürburgring Circuit, Germany.
