New Civic Exceeds The Speed Record in Germany

All New Honda Civic type R, again broke the speed record for the category of front-wheel drive car, in the class hot hatch.


Located on the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, Germany, the car was able to record a time of seven minutes 43.80 seconds on a track along the 20.8 km. The result is claimed to beat the previous record holder for three seconds.

Circuit has been mentioned has the longest and challenging path in the world, and still active until now.

Based on the information received by musclecarride.com, the tests were carried out with standard specifications as per mass production, and using some additional modifications to racing safety standards.

Chassis Engineer of All New Honda Civic type R (FK8) Ryuichi Kijima, said the model has a lighter weight than its predecessor, weighing 16 kg. Thus, it can get a better response on the stir and provide stability when bulldoze the bend.

The use of the New Multi-Link Rear Suspension suspension also provides better stability during braking, as well as reducing Body Roll symptoms.

"It is possible to do 'Late Braking' when the car enters the corner of the corner and produce better 'Cornering Speed', Kijima said.

This car comes with a more aggressive design from the use of Sporty Front Grill, Sporty Front & Rear Bumper, Sporty & Rear Lower Bumper, Sporty Bonnet, Front & Rear Fenders and Sporty Alloy Wheel. For the braking system, the All New Honda Civic Type R uses a braking system package from Brembo.

Manufacturers equip the car with Honda VTEC Turbo Earth Dreams Technology 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, direct injection line that can generate maximum power of 320 HP and maximum torque of 400 Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. There is a new feature of the 'R' button that gives extreme driving sensation to the driver.

Mass production will begin in the summer of 2017 at the Honda Factory in Swindon, England. Later the new Civic goes on sale in continental Europe and afterwards exported to various other regions such as the United States and Asia, including Japan.
